What People Have Said

My grandfather's Seiko had been sitting in a drawer for years. I was not sure if it was worth repairing. The assessment was honest — they pointed out what needed doing and what did not. The watch came back running well, and the written note with it was a nice touch I did not expect.

I have been on the Annual Care Programme for one watch for just over a year. The convenience of having visits already scheduled makes a real difference — I do not have to think about when to take it in. The timing report they send along is genuinely informative rather than just a formality.

Brought in a vintage Longines for a full restoration. The process took longer than I anticipated, but I was kept informed throughout. The scope was agreed before they started and they did not deviate from it. The finished result looked as it should — not over-polished or altered.

The workshop is calm and unassuming — exactly what you want from a repair place. No upselling, no pressure. I asked a lot of questions about the movement and they answered everything without making me feel like I was taking up time. The watch came back on schedule.

Finding someone in Bangkok who works only on mechanical watches took longer than expected. Cogwright is the answer to that problem. Standard service on an ETA movement, done well, priced fairly. The receipt and condition note are a small thing but they build trust over time.

I used Cogwright for a movement service on a watch I wear daily. The turnaround was slightly longer than the initial estimate, but they contacted me to explain why before the deadline. The watch keeps noticeably better time than before it went in. Would come back for the Annual Care Programme.

Challenge
1960s Omega — stopped and corroded
A client brought in a 1960s Omega Seamaster that had stopped ten years prior. Water ingress had corroded parts of the movement and the dial had lifted slightly at one edge.
Approach
Assessment, sourcing, and patient work
The scope was assessed fully before work began. Corroded parts were sourced from a supplier in Switzerland — replacements authentic to the period. The dial was stabilised rather than replaced, preserving the patina the client wanted to keep.
Outcome
Running within original spec
The watch now runs within +/–8 seconds per day, close to the movement's original specification. The dial retains its character and the case shows no new marks from the work. Timeline: six weeks.
"I did not expect to wear it again. Now I do, regularly." — P.M.
Challenge
Daily wearer losing 4 minutes per day
A Khlong Toei resident brought in a modern Swiss automatic that had been losing significant time for several months. The watch had never been serviced and was ten years old.
Approach
Standard movement service
Full disassembly, ultrasonic cleaning, inspection of the mainspring and escapement, fresh lubrication, regulation, and reassembly. One mainspring showed early fatigue and was replaced with the client's approval.
Outcome
+3 seconds per day after service
The timing machine showed +3 seconds per day on completion — within the movement's tolerance. Returned in eight working days. The client enrolled in the Annual Care Programme on collection.
"It runs better than it did when it was new, as far as I can tell." — N.K.
Challenge
Annual Care — two-year membership review
An expatriate client in Bangkok enrolled a dress watch in the Annual Care Programme. The client travels frequently and wanted a way to maintain the watch without coordinating servicing around travel schedules.
Approach
Scheduled visits, priority access
Both visits per year were scheduled around the client's Bangkok calendar at enrolment. Each visit was completed within three working days. The condition reports from each visit now form a two-year service record for the watch.
Outcome
Maintained within spec across Bangkok's climate
After two years on the programme, the watch has not required a full service. The light cleaning and lubrication checks at each visit have kept lubricant condition within range. The client renewed without prompting.
"One less thing to track. That alone is worth it." — R.W.
